Trains

We have a train station in the town of Florence (25Km) with trains to Rome (2 hours 10 minutes) .The main city of Taavrnelle val Di Pesa (5 Km) is about 15 minutes away and has a train station with high-speed trains to Rome, Venice, Bologna, and Milan etc. All express trains need to be booked at least one day in advance. You can view timetables and purchase tickets on line at http://www.trenitalia.it you collect your tickets from automatic (red) ticket machines at the station using a code that trenitalia will send to you via email (you must then "validate" your tickets by having them stamped - small yellow boxes at every platform).

Taxis

Taxis are readily available at Florence train station. We can provide a limited car service for guests to Florence ,Siena,Pisa Airport. We can also arrange for a car with chauffer/guide on a half daily and daily basis.

Before you drive one foot in your rental car, make sure you know about the "ZTL" rules about driving into Florence and any other significant town in Italy. Speed Limits : Highway :130 km/h

Major Roads:90 Km/h ,towns:50 km/h

tolls:be prepated  for the pay tolls located along the autostrade.

I suggest A Via Card ( pre-paid toll card)can be purchased at the autogrillas or at the autostrade toll booths).

Buying Gas:

Most Gas stations  in the Autostrade accept credit card,and in the small town accept only Bancomat with PIN Code.

Taking the Bus:

Bus tickets can be purchased at the Tabacchi,a news-paper kiosk,tichets machines near main stops,or from many Bars.Once on the Bus ,you will need to validate your tichet using the tocket box,usually mounted to a post in the Bus.
